Buying a Kindle for Christmas: My Current Books on Kindle

The Kindle has been the best investment that I have made in 2009. I've read more books in the last three months than I have in the last three years. It's convenient for the many times that I'm waiting in between meetings or visiting folks at the hospital. It's wonderful for going for a coffee with my wife and sitting quietly together as we read. Honestly, if you're wondering about buying yourself a Kindle for Christmas, let me tell you that I heartily recommend it.

Here's a current list of the books that I am reading:

God Hides in Plain Sight by Dean Nelson

Here's the Deal: Don't Touch Me by Howie Mandel

Investing for Dummies by Eric Tyson

The Speed of Trust by Stephen M.R. Covey

Christmas Gifts: I Heart My Kindle

After thinking about it for months, I decided to purchase a Kindle from Amazon.com about six weeks ago. It has revolutionized my reading and become one of the delights of my life.

The Kindle is a portable electronic reading devoice which downloads books, magazines, and pdfs. Instead of paying $20 for a best seller and looking for a place to store the book, I download the same book on Kindle for $10. I read about 30-40 books per year, so after 12 months the Kindle will have paid for itself.

Currently I'm reading several books on my Kindle: Craig Ferguson's "American on Purpose;" Stephen Covey's "The Speed of Trust"; and Max Lucado's "Fearless." I also subscribe to Time and Fortune magazines, as well as this blog!

My NIV Bible is also on my Kindle, so it helps me with my daily readings.

Honestly folks, this is a great investment and a wonderful gift for Christmas...for yourself!

Thy Kindle Come

My Kindle – electronic digital reading book from Amazon.com – arrived today. It is everything that I hoped for. The ease of reading a book without turning pages or having to store it on top of a pile of other books is wonderful.

And because I’m such a Trekkie fan, it makes me feel like Mr. Spock. Steve Jobs might mock the success of Kindle in light of the ipod revolution, but he just doesn’t get how it absolutely works for my generation….:)
