With All Due Respect, Mr. President...

...you have no Constitutional right to declare whether this nation is Christian or non-Christian. You are the Chief Executive of the US government and the highest public servant in the land. Your administration may be non-Christian, but our nation is made up of its people, and not just its political leaders and civil servants.

By their beliefs, behavior, and creeds, the people decide whether or not we have a Christian nation. Your ideals and opinions about the state of religion in this country are personal to you. To state those beliefs unequivocally before the world’s press and to express in a Muslim country that we are not a Christian nation was a mistake.

In years to come, we as a nation may face untold dangers during which the majority of our people will turn to God in prayer for deliverance, guidance, and protection. The vast majority of those prayers will be made in Christian churches, homes, and hearts. In my humble opinion, that’s what makes us a Christian nation.

I will continue to pray for you each and every day.
