John Knox must be rolling in his grave...or in the hay....

That's nuts! That whole article read so crazily, I kept expecting to see that it was from The Onion, or April Fools Day or something.

1) I'm not quite sure why "outdoor sex" and "unsafe sex" or HIV transmission are presented as synonymous. (And I think I'm glad that I don't know what "dogging" is.)

2) I'm not quite sure why a lack of gay bars "forces" anyone to seek anonymous partners on Culloden Battlefield. I myself have never chosen a sex partner in either a bar or a battlefield.

3) I'm not quite sure what Calvin has to do with any of it.

4) And, finally, I am surprised to learn that The Highlands are such a hotbed of Calvinistic thought. I'm so misinformed that I thought that the Protestant Revolution was strongest further south, and that The Highlands were more strongly Catholic.

So perhaps we ought to be blaming this on the Pope? (Note that the last was tongue-in-cheek.)

I couldn't believe it either, Sarahlynn. It sounds like the health minster has Calvophobia...
